Assessment industry standards have long focused on the evaluation of knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) as a fair and valid approach to candidate evaluation. But based on historical limitations with assessment technology, many assessments have focused on the knowledge portion of KSAs. Though clinical and practical assessments in a variety of industries have included skill evaluation, still little has been done with inclusion of more holistic candidate abilities in the assessment process. This limitation in training programs and proficiency evaluations has led to gaps in candidates’ capabilities to meet market and employee needs.
